The Dance Progress

Woke up bright and early this morning, realizing that I had no school work to do! As a celebration, I allowed myself to work on one of my new pieces. It's still in progress, but here's the value layer and line drawing on crescent watercolor board. The finish will be coming soon!

A Nymphette and A Dance

A new piece: Nymphette, and a sketch for another: The Dance. The first, obviously inspired by Nabokov's Lolita, and the second inspired by William Carlos Williams' The Dance (when the snow falls). When in doubt, read!

Sketches to Keep Me Sane

I've been going slightly insane lately with the end of my last semester. Luckily, the only therapy I require includes a pencil, paper and about 10 minutes of free time.

Hunter

That's right folks, your eyes do not deceive you. It's a boy! With a falcon! My instructor advised me to illustrate men whom all of my lovely ladies would be attracted to. So here's one of em for ya.

Duchess

Baroque wigs and lovely fans are always fun. I also LOVE the powdered face/bright blush look with a touch of black in a beauty mark. Not going to lie, I wish I could dress like this on a daily basis.

You Are My Candy Girl

A new piece for the portfolio. It was inspired by my need to play with a different color palette.

The finish is in gouache, graphite and tiny bits of white acrylic.

Preliminary sketch.

Emma and Ellie

Ellie is, of course, the plush elephant. Named and fashioned after my very own Ellie who used to keep me company throughout dark and haunted nights, putting those ghosts in their place.
